How can public libraries of the future adapt to serve the needs of the people, beyond resources and knowledge?
It is the year 2029 and between Brexit, climate change and the worst financial crisis Britain has ever seen, the country is at it’s bleakest state yet. The rise of artificial intelligence coupled with an ageing population has left people feeling alienated from their own towns. However, rather than feel hopeless and become recluses, people know there is still one place that they can go to in times of need as well as leisure. A place where the luxuries of anonymity, freedom and possibility still remain, 10 years later. This place is the library.
This project explores how libraries can adapt and expand their functions to meet the needs of a changing future through the life of a character that visits the library almost everyday.
